Big News!

Almost everybody knows this already but our blog doesn't...bear with me...
We're having a baby!!! It's been the best 6 months of my life so far being the house (I definitely feel like one at this point) for this sweet little girl. So, for memory's sake, here's the story from the beginning...

We had just gotten back from Europe and moved back in our apartment only to find that it had become infested with cockroaches and s-words. Not two days later we found out we were going to have a baby! That night we went over to Sean's parent's house and his sister Stephanie jokingly asked if I was prego and I couldn't suck the smile off my face so, officially, she was the first to know. But, beside the fact that I am deathly afraid of s-words, we didn't want to have a baby in a crappy apartment. We got out of that apartment as fast as we could, it was probably a week or less. Bless our wonderful families who helped us as well as the Saragers who let us rent their house.

We had absolutely no idea how far along I was but when we went to the doctor I got an ultrasound and it showed about 9 weeks. Here's our cute little gummy bear then!!
It was so crazy at this point because I didn't feel prego at all, but there was that cute little gummy bear floatin around! We decided not to tell any beside Steph and my sister, Brit, for the sake of it was really fun for it to be our secret. Once my body realized I was prego and I started to get woozy quite often I decided to tell the girls at work. They were getting kinda grossed out by the fact that I kept running to the bathroom. It didn't take long for the news to spread and before I knew it some of our kids would ask "How's gummy bear?" every time they saw me.

I got morning sickness and the whole bit but it was never much to complain about. I kept ginger snaps and saltines at arms length where ever I went. Our little secret got more difficult to keep the bigger our gummy bear got. In October we decided to buy a house and by the end of November we were moving out. I didn't want anyone to ask questions so I wore a big t-shirt and moved boxes till I was ready to collapse. I thought once that our plans were foiled when Melissa, Sean's sister started packing my prego books. She thought I was just reading ahead so we were saved for the time being.

Here is the second ultra sound at about 18 weeks. She looks like a real hoomin bean!

We went in for the appointment thinking that we would find out whether it was a boy or girl but they shattered our dreams, telling us that we had to wait another month. We weren't having that so we paid extra money just to find out what it was. There I layed on the table 100% sure that it was a boy and there Sean sat squeezing my hand sure that it was a girl. So much for mother's intuition. I'm off to a great start...its a girl! It was hard to stay straight-faced after that; we were all smiles and some tears. It was incredible to see how she moved and already looked so much like a "real" baby compared to the gummy bear we had stared at for so long.

This is one of my favorite pictures. The technician was surprised to get such a perfect picture of her sweet little hand. We learned one very important thing from this visit and that was that her right hand has all five fingers.
This is the video :)

Some people can't make this one out but it's incredibly cute once you can tell where her body parts are. On the right side is her head facing left. You can see almost her full left leg to the left of the ultrasound and part of her right in the middle. If there is one thing that is extra special about this girl it is that she is a squirmy little bug. She is having way too much fun kicking, wiggling, and dancing. I have felt her ever since week 17/18 and she has not stopped since. Compared to everyone I've talked to, she is an extremely active little one.
This is the video of the picture above. She would kick at the ultrasound instrument wherever it was on my belly. The CUTEST thing ever to watch.

This is the latest, taken at 25 weeks. She had herself folded in half with her legs over her head, one arm behind her back, and the other between her legs. Our squirmy little girl fell asleep mid-wiggle.

Halloween!!

Our two favorite people in the world, Nate and Steph Payne, came over for Halloween and we had a spoooooky dinner! Steph made a spooky graveyard of brownies...
and yummy bone bread.
We also had mummy hot dogs with monster toes.
Steph was Humptey Dumptey and Nate was a bloody kid sticking out of a chimney...we don't have a picture but it was really funny :)

A couple weeks before we got together with Jason and Krystal, Nate and Steph, and Brodie and Lindsay. We carved pumpkins and ate caramel apples. Our pumpkin was a haunted mansion. Spooooky!

Across the Pond...

For as long as I have lived it has always been my dearest ambition to travel the world. I was able to go to Europe while Sean was on his mission with the best partner in crime, Kellan, but it just wasn't enough. After not as much poking and prodding as I thought, Sean decided he wanted to go as well. We talked about it for the longest time but we finally made it happen August of 2009. It wasn't without sacrifice though; Sean skipped out on his first week of classes. It was the only way we decided we could do it since he couldn't take of work for APX. So, August 23 we ventured off across the Pond to a little town known as London!

The flight was not quite as awesome as we thought it would be...the seats were small and there were no individual movie screens. It was all worth it when we stepped off the plane and into the Gatwick airport. Beautiful London, we were there! That's when all the trouble started. We walked back and forth looking for our taxi service that was supposed to be waiting for us, but after an hour we began to get antsy. We found out that Priceline had not even sent our information to the taxi service so we rode the train to a stop nearest our hotel. The task didn't prove to be very easy considering we had mondo amounts of luggage. We paid a taxi 5pounds to literally drive us around the corner that could have easily been walked. :) We super enjoyed the English hospitality. But, there was light at the end of the tunnel because our hotel, Holiday Inn Express, was amazing (Beside the fact that we got landed with two twin beds.) After a much needed nap and a session of unpacking we headed off to the Natural History Museum. Delayed only by the closed tube station and the slow paced shuffle we were forced to walk in (a skirt on a blustery day in London town is not the best choice of clothing) we finally got there! The architecture of this building will always be more fascinating to me than what is actually inside but both are above anything I've ever seen.

This is my favorite part in the whole museum. You get a view of the ginormous double staircase as well as all the people.

The next day we got up bright and early...4:00 and met up with the good ol' Red Bus Tour. We had to wait for about an hour but waiting never suggests problems when your standing in the center of one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Sean really believes that he's a secret agent or super hero...

This was a cute little shop we saw while on our walk

A BEAutiful view from south of the Thames

Behind Westminster

Westminster again

Big Ben!

This was inside Westminster. We had to be quite sneaky to get this picture this ended up being one of our favorite pictures of the trip.

This is Harrods, which is one of the largest stores ever! We didn't go in cause I got lost last time and beside that we couldn't afford even their 60 pound socks.

Behind Shakespeare's Globe. I just finished a Shakespeare class so going here was especially amazing.

Victoria and Albert Museum...Sean as David
This is my favorite museum in the world! We spent a good 5 hours in here.

A costume from the Producers...my favorite movie...Springtime for Hitler!!

The Round Pond...we bought dinner from Mark's and Spencers, the best grocery store, and shivered half to death as we sat on the poopy grass and listened to the church bells.

Ahhh Paris. We took the Eurostar straight into Paris, hopped on the Metro, and first visited the Sacre Coeur. Before we got to the steps some African men approached us and asked/ demanded to make a bracelet on our fingers and then we could decide to buy it or not. I thought they were so friendly but Sean and his American salesmanness was not having it at all. They kept telling him, "Hakunah Matata! Just be nice, do you know what that means?" I've definitely seen the Lion King 5 or a million times so I told them and they laughed, patted me on the shoulder and said, "We like you, but this guy? No way. He's not friendly at all. You should tell him to lighten up. We don't like him at all". And after we told and showed them we didn't have money to pay for the bracelets the niceties ended completely and I thought they were going to kill my husband. I guess they all have telepathy powers because every other African selling bracelets followed us around with the look of death on their face. But the church sure was pretty!
There was a great view from atop the 1 million steps leading up to the cathedral. It was the most breathtaking view I've ever seen and the picture doesn't do justice.

One of my have-to-go-tos was Montmarte, which I sadly missed last time. We left the Sacre Coeur in search of it only to go right back to it. Then we waited in this huge line to get on a very Star wars looking elevator that ended up taking us exactly back to the Sacre Coeur. Tourists. It was worth the hassel! Painters lined the streets and street musicians totaled the experiance. I was dying to buy a painting but a small 8x8 averaged $200. Sean had his first crepe and we scidadled out of there and on to the Tour d'eiffel.

There are plenty of funny stories attatched to this picture. First, let me tell you that Sean and my mindsets are quite opposite when walking in a foreign country. I like to blend in, not talking very much so people don't know I'm a tourist and don't treat me like one. I like to pretend that I live there...it seems to soak in better that way. Sean, on the other and most opposite hand, is all-American and forgets quite easily that most Parisians hate the US. :) Bless his dear heart. We're sitting on the metro, enjoying the scenery playing on around us, when all of a sudden Sean gasps as loud as anyone can gasp, points and yells, "Look!" Oh, that cute husband of mine had spotted the Eiffel Tower and in so doing blown our cover and let the whole train know that we were two of those crazy Americans. I have never had so many French glares at one time.

While walking up to the Eiffel Tower we ran into some Middle Eastern scam artists who tried to beg money out of us. The next one we ran into Sean says, "Uh, no habla espagnol". We had a giggle fit and had to leave the poor grumpy lady. Then, we ran into a man who said he would do our characateur for very cheap. I talked Sean into it and we sat and talked about his 11 children while he promised to make me look "so sexy". $60 later we looked at the most hideous picture we had ever seen. Well, I was gorgeous but it looked nothing like me...especially the over volumptious chest that poured out of my shirt...not in this lifetime. And Sean (the good-looking one of us two) had a goober nose and a dumb expression on his face. We had a very expensive laugh over that one.

Notre Dame

Just one of the HUGE stained glass windows inside. One of my favorite things about the Notre Dame is that when you go inside it's dark and as quite as can be.

Outside the Louvre

Mona Lisa! We think it was a fake because they let everyone take pictures. The last time I was there they made everyone put their cameras away before they got close.

This was one of my favorite paintings.

Favorite! Winged Victory

Venus de Milo

My hot hubby

Windsor Castle. This place was ridiculous. Everything was covered in gold and decorated with the most expensive rare pieces and nobody even lives there. The Queen has her own quarters in a whole seperate wing. God save the Queen and all but I sure as heck don't understand it.

Stonehenge

Oxford
I was looking forward to this the most but it ended up being the biggest disappointment. On the tour description it said we would visit scenes from Harry Potter. We didn't.

Heaven's to Betsy, an Apple store in Oxford.

The dreadful British Museum. The trip was oh so wonderful until this day. We recorded our entire trip and it was all lost in the five minutes Sean left the camcorder in the bathroom. We have no good feelings associated with this museum seeing as how we spent 2 1/2 hours searching and asking everyone if they had seen it. We even went so far as to go to nearby electronic stores to see if someone tried to sell it...we were desperate.

The Rosetta Stone

Easter Island
Dum dum want gum gum

BOUROUGH MARKET

Buckingham palace and the changing of the guard

They played music for a good hour including our favorites: Wicked and Mama Mia!!

Our home station for the week

This was by far the best trip we had ever been on. It was the most amazing cultural experience and I loved sharing my love for everything with Sean. He quickly fell in love with the museums and surprised me by wanting to go to the Tate Britain over shopping on Oxford Street. We also got to see Les Miserables, which is so much better than Gammage. (We were actually late cause we stopped to get doughnuts :) )

The trip home was ten times better than the one over. The plane was about half empty so we got a whole row of seats to ourselves. Neither of us slept (I dozed for an hour) because we wanted to watch the million movies they had available. We ended up watching about 6. When we got home both of us were so exhausted and we couldn't catch up on sleep for about the next month. All worth it!!

Some more of our favorites:

Covington Gardens...we sat and watched music and magic shows
the TUBE!...we saw many interesting people
Marks and Spencer's
Speaker's Corner
Oxford Street
The store Hyper Hyper
Bourough market and their carazy foods
The Red Bus Tour

Going all the way to the Tate to see a painting that had just been moved to the Royal Gallery earlier that week
Going to bed at 3 and waking up at 6
Fish and Chips 4 million times
Standing in the back of Lyceum Theater to watch Lion King

DISNEYLAND!!

About 2 months in to the summer I got fed up with not seeing my husband. APX had claimed him and I gladly let him go to work but I had enough by the end of July. Sean was so sweetly thoughtful and took me to Disneyland for half the day. He was still able to go to work for half a day but it was just enough to remind me that, yes, indeed, I still had a husband!

My cute little bug knows how much I love Disneyland, but also knows I consider it cheating to go and leave anytime before midnight. A couple weeks later he too me back for the whole day. It was the most magical day of the summer. One thing I love most about Sean is that he is almost as much a little kid as I am. When we went for our honeymoon he said, "I can't wait to get home and tell everyone I married a 10 year old." Too bad he wasn't looking in a mirror cause he was as much a 10 year old as I was! We goofed off the whole day and on into the night.

This room became our "home base" when it got too hot or we go tired. We sat on the floor watching the video clips and singing at the top of our lungs. We played a game to see who could guess the most movies the fastest...need I say who won? I'm practically a Disney character myself.

There was also the most amazing part of the park hiding in this room. "Anamation Academy" was set up like a classroom where everyone had there own drawing boards and pencil. There was a 20 minute "class" teaching us how to draw a specific character. We went three times in a row and I now know that Sean is an incredibly talented sketch artist!

10 pm and Erin was starving. I've never liked sourdough bread, but for the next hour it was my favorite food. I will never touch the dirty stuff again. Story of our life :)

More CA

We only went to the beach a couple of times, but when we did it was CArazy fun!

The boys played frisbee in the water while Lindsay Martinez, Madi, and I lied on the beach :)

One Saturday us girls ventured out of Rancho and discovered one of the best museums I have ever been to...maybe 6th best. We got lost on the way there and parked 5 miles away. Once we finally found it we all agreed that it was well worth the drive. We spent almost all day walking around the fantastic LACMA.

Erin, Madi, Megumi, and Lindsay

Melissa stayed in Coronado for a week and luckily we lived only an hour and a half away! I drove down and spent the day with her on the beach, walking through the Del, and out and about.

Viva Las Vegas!

A recap of the last 4 months!

During the summer we thought about moving the office to Vegas so we went up there for the weekend to test it out. We were out there for the 4th of July so we all went out to Hard Rock Cafe
and explored the strip. It was a blast but we were so happy to go back to CA!

We went to an indoor mall and found the most Alice in Wonderland room ever. I'm going to decorate our whole house like this.

We climbed 1,000 stairs to the top of a parking garage to watch fireworks. We saw probably 7 shows at the same time.
